Ferd Mueller
President and CEO of Siloam Stone, Inc.
Our founder Ferd Mueller went to be with our Lord in April of 2018 at age 95. We all miss him so much but his earthly legacy lives on.
Mr. Mueller was a Ceramic Engineer, entrepreneur, WWII veteran, loving husband, father and grandfather. The original mine site was opened in 1955 for the rich fire clay deposit which was ideal for refractories manufacturing. The fireclay mineral is still utilized today in the manufacturing process of structural clay products.
Mr. Mueller, who has always had a high degree of interest in landscape design and stone products, believed the stone deposit had excellent potential for landscape and masonry applications.
Indeed, Mr. Mueller was right. The stone deposit, in geological terms, is part of the Dakota Formation which is well known for very high quality sandstone.
Ferd is the father of seven children and has two sons who are actively involved and share holders in the Business. Matthew Mueller is the General Manager – VP and handles the administrative, sales and marketing aspects of the corporation. Bradley Mueller is the Operations Manager – VP and oversees all aspects of the quarry operations. This family operated business credits their success to the principles of: outstanding customer service, honesty and integrity, substantial inventories to accommodate immediate customer needs, BMP (Best Management Practices), adherence to all Local, State and Federal regulations and, of course, the gift of a product that is both beautiful and sustainable.
